Expressing yourself when communicating with someone can be one of the hardest thing. Some people have the fear  to express themselves because they are afraid to loose their friendship or being judged. There are many times when we said thing that did not come out the right way because we were too angry and could not control what we say.

It is important to learn to know how to express yourself in a healthy way. Here are four ways in which you can express yourself.

LISTEN TO YOURSELF AND ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR EMOTIONS – Listen to yourself, how you want to react to a situation so that you will be able to communicate your feelings in a honest way. Do not let you emotions control you, people usually hide away their emotion but there are times when they need to be expressed to free you from the situation you are facing, for example when grieving.

WRITE A JOURNAL – When going through a sad phase write down how you are feeling, how you react to things. Connect with your emotions and feeling not your thoughts in that way it helps release the energy. Write how you want to react to situation, when expressing your emotions on your journal try as much as possible to do it safely. Do not write down things that will hurt you or other people in the long run or get you in trouble.

EXPRESS YOURSELF VERBALLY –  Let your voice be heard, speak out. Don’t be aggressive.

EXPRESS YOURSELF IN A CREATIVE WAY – There are other ways in which you enjoy when you express yourself. It can be through;

  • Drawing – get a sketch book and draw something you like, it doesn’t have to be perfect. Remember you are expressing yourself.
  • Dancing – this can help let go of your inner feelings and your desires. When feeling low put on on some music, dance to the song to express you feeling. Dancing helps change your mood from sad to happy. You can also try some dancing lessons and learn new type of dance to different genres.
  • Singing – You do not have to be like Beyonce or Rihanna to sing, we all can sing even if we are not good at it. Sing songs that connect to your emotions, sing in the shower, car, cooking anywhere. Be yourself when singing and sing songs that resonate you.

Express yourself and fear nothing, let your voice be heard, read on how to UNLOCK HAPPINESS here.

This is the date that marks history to the formerly known  Bechuanaland as they gained their Independence from the British in 1966. Now known as Botswana, this day is celebrated (30th September) nation wide. Botswana is a developing country, and since its independence it became a democratic country.

People travel from Cities or their working places to their home villages to celebrate with their families. There are always party events going on all around the nation where people can go and commemorate this day, as for the elderly people they often celebrate the day at the kgotla. At the Kgotla traditional food is always prepared and there is traditional music and they reflect on how the country has grown since independency. The day is celebrated in all countries where there are Batswana nations, it’s either organised by the Botswana Embassy or the nationals themselves if it is where there is no Embassy.

We wish all Batswana a HAPPY 49th INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

Life is a roller coaster

Life is a roller coaster in deed, we need not to give up and keep pushing for what we believe in and work hard. Nice one ladies.
We hope this inspires a lot of youngsters that giving up is not the option and know that all the struggles are just a lesson to life. Cheers!!

Life is a journey where we go through the good and the bad. On our daily journey we make new friends who later turn to be like family to us, we get new opportunities that can better our lives, and that is one of the most great things we all want in life, to live happily with no obstacles. What is life without obstacles?! along our life journey we  loose a friend, family member, we go through though times, we have doors shut on our faces but that does not mean we have to sit down and say things are not working out for us. All these are just a learning experience to our life journey, of which they build and mould us to be who we are, being the strongest persons we are now and being able to tackle any obstacle that is ahead of us. We have learnt…

True Friendship

Be grateful for the friends that you have. You know it is true friendship when someone likes you regardless of your size, money you have and age. You don’t have to try hard to fit in. Our friends are our warm refuge where we loose ourselves, have fun, share secrets, laugh together and just be ourselves. Friendship is not about who you have known the longest but who have stuck with you all the time.  You may not speak or meet for long but the bond will be immediate when you meet again. Best friends stick like family, of course we hit bumps from time to time but the best friendship is when you ride up the turbulence.

Don’t choose friends who are uninspired, ungrateful, untrustworthy and unmotivated because you may end up just like them. Do not choose friends who compete with you. Hold on to those who embrace you with pure love and bring out the best in you. Friends are like stars, there are always there but we do not see them all the time.

Erasers are evil

Oh my gosh!! That’s the reaction we got when we saw the headline “Erasers, tools of the  devil”. After reading the article we found it funny at first and then thought to ourselves, really! Yes we used erasers during grade 1/ standard 1 and we do not see the devil in them. We feel erasers are meant to fix or correct mistakes.

Take a look at the article below, a shot from The Daily Telegraph dated 27th May.

We believe we erase our mistakes because we are willing to correct them not because we are ashamed of them. Nobody want to look back at their mistakes and not be able to correct them. We do not have to carry our mistakes with us, erasing your mistakes means you admit them and you are willing to move forward.
